The braking device has cylinder (12) in which a piston-like component (8) is movably arranged. The movement of component (8) is stopped at a predefined distance of the component from cylinder cover (14) by throttling the flow of hydraulic fluid through an opening in the cylinder cover, and unthrottling inflow of hydraulic fluid into the cylinder at the opposite direction of movement of the component (8). The component (8) is formed with coaxial extensions (15,18) and a gap for receiving the coaxial bore of the cylinder cover.
