The connector (22) has a shell structure (101) that comprises a closed cabinet (100) and mechanical fastening elements (24,26) at the sides for mechanical fixing in the wood-based wall construction. The mechanical fastening elements are arranged adjacent to each other or at the corner faces of the connector opposing each other. The mechanical fastening elements are arranged according to the requirement for manufacturing a straight wall. An independent claim is included for wood-based wall construction.
