A product can be equipped with a product sensor so that, together with the product, data from a system or a machine can be determined using the product sensor. The determined data can be used for diagnosis and / or control of the system or machine. It is advantageous that the data are collected at the location of the product and that an (undesired) effect (e.g. of environmental parameters or the system itself) on the product can be determined directly. The invention can e.g. B. in automation technology, in systems or machines or in different variants of product manufacturing.
