The method involves forming an inner ring (2) with a convex surface (4) and forming an outer ring (3) with a radial inner surface (5'). The inner ring and outer ring are merged in relative axial position corresponding to the final relative position. Plastic deformation of the outer ring is carried out so that portions of outer ring are displaced radially inwards and rear section of outer ring is formed with respect to the inner ring in the axial direction (a). The deformation is carried out by applying electromagnetic pulse in the material of outer ring.
