The method involves providing a blank from a raw material for the inner ring (130) and the outer ring (140) and heat-treating the blank. The blank is grinded to form a sliding surface of the inner ring and a sliding surface of the outer ring in a preliminary stage. The inner ring and the outer ring are assembled to form the sliding bearing (100). A seal is mounted on the sliding bearing such that the seal seals the intermediate space between the sliding surface of the inner ring and the sliding surface of the outer ring.
