The barrel (10) has a bung hole aperture formed in a disk-shaped barrel surface (26) and designed as a conical transportable intermediate of a barrel body slug. The barrel body slug is firmly connected with the disk-shaped barrel surface on a smaller-diameter side of the barrel such that a complete cylindrical barrel body is formed for transportation of the conical intermediate and prefabricated accessories and firmly connected with the disk-shaped barrel surface on an open side. The cylindrical barrel body is provided with a recess, where the barrel is made of metal. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cylindrical bung barrel.
