Method for operating e.g. petrol engine of motor vehicle, involves compensating deviation of engine by changing fuel mixture, and detecting deviation from respective burning time duration of engine in individual ratios
The method involves detecting performance deviation of an internal combustion engine with respect to a combustion chamber. Amount of a fuel mixture provided into the combustion chamber is changed for compensating the deviation, where the deviation is measured. The deviation from respective burning time duration (tF1) of the engine is detected in individual ratios. Total burning time duration (tFG) is determined from the ratios of a time course of a secondary current (iSeKu) of an ignition transformer. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber.
