Plant for torrefaction of biomass, preferably wood chips, wood- and plant remains comprises functional units i.e. a feeding device for biomass, a vacuumable torrefaction device for the torrefaction of biomass by the action of heat, an extraction device for the torrefied biomass from torrefaction device and a supply device for operating the functional units. The plant is transportable, and at least a part of the functional unit of the plant is arranged together on at least one transport rack and is connected together. The supply device is operated independently by an external power supply.
