Method for determining forward- and reverse movements of e.g. motor car, involves considering correlation of measured variables for determination of direction of movement within data set by multiple successive measurements
The method involves measuring yaw angular velocity of a vehicle i.e. motor car (1), as two measured variables simultaneously, where one of the variables describes transverse dynamics of the vehicle. A correlation of the variables is considered for determination of direction of a movement within a data set by multiple successive measurements. A correlation factor between deviations of the variables is computed. Forward and reverse movements are determined when an amount of the correlation factor exceeds a threshold value with respective positive and negative correlation factor values. An independent claim is also included for an electronically controlled braking system with a control device for performing a method for determining forward- and reverse movements of a vehicle.
