The vehicle (1) has a gas generator for inflating a pedestrian airbag (2) that is provided beneath a windshield (3). The pedestrian airbag is automatically triggered when a collision of a front portion of the vehicle with a person is detected, such that partial area of the windshield is covered. The pedestrian airbag provided on a passenger side of the vehicle is coupled to the gas generator and is fixed at driver side of the vehicle with an explosive screw (4).
