The part (1) has an airbag passage opening closed with a cover (2) that is integrated into the lining part. A surface side of the lining part is provided with a surface material (3) e.g. leather, artificial leather, cloth, firing skin or foil. The surface material is covered by the cover. A break section (4) is covered by the surface material and arranged along the opening below the surface material. The break section is breakthroughable by the cover that is opened by expansion of an airbag for complete expansion of the airbag. An independent claim is also included for a method for opening an airgap passage opening in a lining part of a vehicle.
