Capacitive proximity sensor for providing signal at approach of medium or conductive object, comprises internal electrode, and outer electrode, which comprises cup-shaped configuration, in which inner electrode is arranged
The capacitive proximity sensor comprises an internal electrode, and an outer electrode (500). The outer electrode comprises a cup-shaped configuration, in which the inner electrode is arranged to form a circumferential gap (410), and forms a housing of the sensor. The gap is filled with a highly resistant, insulating medium (110) and arranged between the outer and inner electrodes, where the medium has mechanical and thermal properties as a metal of the inner and outer electrodes. The inner and outer electrodes exhibit a round, square, rectangular, polygonal, oval or elliptical shape. The capacitive proximity sensor comprises an internal electrode, and an outer electrode (500). The outer electrode comprises a cup-shaped configuration, in which the inner electrode is arranged to form a circumferential gap (410), and forms a housing of the sensor. The gap is filled with a highly resistant, insulating medium (110) and arranged between the outer and inner electrodes, where the medium has mechanical and thermal properties as a metal of the inner and outer electrodes. The inner and outer electrodes exhibit a round, square, rectangular, polygonal, oval or elliptical shape. The inner electrode is formed by a core electrode (200) and a shield electrode (300) surrounding the core electrode, where a gap filled with the highly resistant, insulating medium is formed between the core electrode and the shield electrode. The medium present between the outer and inner electrodes and the medium present between the core and shield electrodes are same or different. The medium: is thermosets or ceramic with a dielectric constant of 1 and a linear expansion coefficient of 10x 10 -6K -1and 30x 10 -6K -1; and has a temperature resistance of 200[deg] C and a compressive strength of 140 MPa. The inner and outer electrodes are outwardly exposed at a sensor front side. The housing exhibits fastening elements such as a screw thread for attachment.
