The method involves producing minimum pressure with heat transfer fluid at high temperature, where the heat transfer fluid is conducted through a cooling system of a combustion engine (1). Heat is transferred to a heat exchanger at an outer side of the combustion engine by the heat transfer fluid. Water is introduced into the heat exchanger for a steam generation, so that the generated steam is passed into a steam engine and condensed together with the water in a water tank for cooling engine-oil in the engine. An independent claim is also included for a device for generating stream from waste heat of a liquid cooled internal combustion engine for producing electric current and for heating a space and industrial water.
