The vehicle has an under bonnet space arranged with a mechanical unit (2). A hollow structural element (1) is inserted along predefined direction (D) during impact. A maintaining unit (3) maintains the mechanical unit, and is deployed under effect of depression of the structural elements. The maintaining unit co-operates with the mechanical unit in a deployed position to prevent the movement of the mechanical unit in the predefined direction. The structural element is stretcher or longeron.
