The lock (1) has a protection device comprising a protection plate (22) engaged with a groove (11) under effect of an elastic return unit. The return unit forces the plate to pivot around a transverse axle (14) if the plate is disengaged from the groove to position a protuberance (25) on a path of an outer end (9) of a locking bolt (5). The device comprises a movable locking member (40) i.e. canary, placed laterally to the groove and adapted to engage with the plate. The locking member is designed to block the groove in translation when the plate pivots around the axle.
