The method involves applying three intermediate reinforcing fiber layers (14a-14c) braided around a tubular mandrel, while being stacked relative to each other. One of the layers is cut after application of the layer. The cut layer is removed before application of other two layers so as to locally form additional thickness of reinforcing fibers i.e. carbon fibers, at portions of the cut layer for forming a local reinforcement of a composite part. Resin is injected into the three layers before being polymerized to form a blank.
