The method involves compressing (201) a masked video sequence (20) using a video coder (200) in order to obtain a first compressed flow (21). Difference (22) between an original video sequence (100) and the masked compressed sequence is compressed (202) in order to obtain a second compressed flow. The second flow is marked with an identifier that is not-interpretable by the coder such that a video decoder adapted to the coder cannot decompress the second flow. The first and second flows are interlaced and synchronized (203) to obtain a single compressed flow (105).
