Hopper and equipment for producing air curtain for hoppers

An apparatus suitable for producing an air curtain comprises a first duct 2 (chute) having an air inlet 9 and an air outlet 10, a bypass duct 4 (passageway) in fluid communication with the first duct via an intermediate outlet 11 located between the air inlet and air outlet, an adjustable diverting means 3 (valve) being located in the first duct and arranged to control airflow to the air outlet or the bypass duct, and the bypass duct in fluid communication with a diffuser 5 to produce the air curtain. A plurality of the apparatus is used with a hopper for unloading bulk products to prevent dust produced in the hopper from flowing outside (fig 1). The hopper comprises a body (7), suction and filtration means (6) for sucking and filtering dust originated from the unloading. The air inlet receives air from the suction and filtration means. The diverting means may be flap valve or a plurality of valves.
