Bed extension platform to provide support for an occupant lying in a prone position

A platform extension 2 for a bed or sleeping platform 1 comprises fastening means allowing it to be attached to the side of a bed and an aperture 4 at a displaced position relative to a side of a bed for accommodating the face of an occupant lying on the bed face-down. The platform 2 is configured and/or orientated to present the aperture 4 relative to a plane of a bed upon which the extension is associated in use. The face aperture 4 of the bed extension may be cushioned and received inserts. When arranged with a bed or sleeping platform, a sleeper can lay stomach down with an aligned spine rather than with a head turned to allow them breath. Furthermore, when required the sleeper can sleep on their back or side retaining flexibility in use of the bed.
