PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel sheet meandering prevention device of a vertical looper preventing meandering of a steel sheet with a simple facility and a method for preventing meandering of the steel sheet using the steel sheet meandering prevention device of the vertical looper.;SOLUTION: A steel sheet meandering prevention device of a vertical looper for a continuous processing facility for a steel sheet includes jack mechanisms respectively arranged in two corners on one end side in the steel sheet width direction of a looper carriage and connected to chains or wires towing the looper carriage through attaching metals, a meandering detector detecting the meandering amount of the steel sheet in the looper, a level meter detecting the height of the looper carriage, and a means receiving detection signals from the meandering detector and the level meter, calculating the lifting amount of the corners of the looper carriage, instructing the jack mechanisms on the calculated result, and controlling the lifting amount of the corners of the looper carriage by the jack mechanisms.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
