PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary distribution states of granular materials to two areas in a case, and to simply and promptly perform an operation for making the number of all the granular materials visible.;SOLUTION: A learning tool for decomposing numbers includes: a thin hexahedral transparent case 1 which is formed of first, second front and rear principal planes 2, 3, and case end surfaces 4-7; a shield member 8 which is arranged in a lower side area so as to visually and vertically divide an area in the case viewed from the principal planes on a main boundary M; a division plate 8a which forms a sub-boundary S perpendicular to the main boundary to spatially divide the lower side area into first and second subareas A, B; and a plurality of spheres 10 accommodated in the case. The shield member shields the first principal plane side, makes the second principal plane side into non-shield in the first subarea, shields the second principal plane side, makes the first principal plane side into non-shield, shields an area on the sub-boundary, and shields the case end surfaces which become the bottom surface in the second subarea.
