PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively, readily, and precisely performing a hydrogen embrittlement resistance characteristic evaluation.SOLUTION: A hydrogen embrittlement resistance characteristic evaluation method for a thin steel sheet uses an apparatus having an electrolytic bath filled with electrolyte containing hydrogen ion, current generating means, and constant load generating means. In the method, a test piece having a parallel portion in a longitudinal direction is penetrated through the electrolytic bath, and both ends of the test piece protruding out of the electrolytic bath are fixed to the constant load generating means via connection fixtures. While a tensile stress is applied by the constant load generating means and a hydrogen charge is electrochemically performed by the current generating means, a rupture stress of the test piece is measured.
