PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively, readily, and precisely performing a hydrogen embrittlement resistance characteristic evaluation.;SOLUTION: A hydrogen embrittlement resistance characteristic evaluation method for a thin steel sheet uses an apparatus having a solution bath filled with solution whose pH is 3 or more, and constant load generating means. In the method, a test piece having a parallel portion in a longitudinal direction is penetrated through the solution bath, and both ends of the test piece protruding out of the solution bath are fixed to the constant load generating means via connection fixtures.
