PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flue gas desulfurization apparatus for an oxygen burning system capable of achieving reduction in a recovery cost for carbon dioxide causing neither a decrease in desulfurization performance nor hindrance to oxygen burning, and to provide the oxygen burning system.SOLUTION: A flue gas desulfurization apparatus 20 includes an absorption tower 21 having: an absorbing liquid reservoir part 21a which reserves a desulfurization absorbing liquid L; a gas introduction part 21b which introduces exhaust gas GI produced by a boiler 1; a spray 21c which blows the desulfurization absorbing liquid L to the exhaust gas GI; and a gas exhaustion part 21d which exhausts exhaust gas GO with sulfur oxide removed by blowing the desulfurization absorbing liquid L from the spray 21C.
