PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flue gas desulfurization method for an oxygen combustion system which can avoid the risk of exhaust gas dilution under a simple construction, and also, can maintain power generation efficiency by reducing COseparation recovery power at power generation facilities.SOLUTION: The flue gas desulfurization method for the oxygen combustion system involves the following procedures. First, an exhaust gas containing a sulfur oxide is introduced into an absorption tower 1 from an exhaust gas line 101 of the oxygen combustion system 100. Next, the sulfur oxide is removed from the exhaust gas by spraying an absorbing solution, and thus, gypsum is produced by causing an oxidation process to take place inside a storage tank 5 for storing the absorbing solution. In addition, a part of the exhaust gas in an outlet of the absorption tower 1 is recirculated into the absorbing solution of the absorption tower 1 as a recirculation gas 12. After that, oxygen 20 is mixed into the recirculation gas 12 of the absorption tower 1, and the mixture is supplied to the absorption tower 1.
