PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sufficiently and surely promoting rooting of a shoot derived from cells of a plant of the genus Jatropha, especially transformed cells.SOLUTION: A method for promoting rooting of a shoot derived from cells of a plant of the genus Jatropha includes growing the shoot in a medium for plant culture, containing only indolebutyric acid as a plant growth regulator, 0.01-5 mmol/L of ammonium ion and 10-50 mmol/L of nitrate ion.
