PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device which can efficiently correct compound words that easily cause reading errors, while displaying readings of text.SOLUTION: A reading generation device 1 comprises: a morpheme string output unit 2 for generating morpheme strings by performing morphological analysis on an input text 51; a compound word extraction unit 31 for extracting parts of speech indicating compound words from the morpheme strings; a multiple-divisible compound word determination unit 33 for, for each of the extracted compound words, determining whether the compound word has a plurality of division results dividing the morpheme string into morphemes; and a display processing unit 41 which displays the compound words which are determined to have a plurality of division results in a highlighted manner, while displaying a display text 52 which is display data of the input text 51.
