PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vapor permeability evaluation cell capable of reducing an influence of environment when producing a cell and of vapor entering from a cell outer layer part, and obtaining an evaluation result with further high reliability in a vapor permeability evaluation of a test piece for evaluating the vapor permeability, and to provide a vapor permeability evaluation method.SOLUTION: A vapor permeability evaluation cell 10 includes, in a test piece 1, a corrodible metal layer 2 that is formed of a metal reacting with water to generate corrosive, and a moisture absorption structure 3. The moisture absorption structure 3 is fixed by an organic substance allowing moisture to pass therethrough. Using the vapor permeability evaluation cell 10, the vapor permeability evaluation method evaluates vapor permeability of the test piece 1 by humidifying the evaluation cell 10 and evaluating a corrosion state of the corrodible metal layer 2 that reacts with water to generate the corrosive.
