PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval expression validity determination device, method, and program by which whether or not the content of a patent retrieval expression is appropriate is known even when there is no advanced knowledge to an investigation object when the patent retrieval expression is created.;SOLUTION: When a patent retrieval expression is created, whether or not the patent retrieval expression is appropriate is determined by a retrieval expression validity determination device 1 equipped with: a rule storage part capable of storing one or more retrieval expression rules which are rules for determining that the content of the patent retrieval expression is inappropriate; an acceptance part which accepts the patent retrieval expression; a determination part which applies the patent retrieval expression to the respective one or more retrieval expression rules, determines a retrieval expression rule matched to the patent retrieval expression, and acquires a determination result which is information regarding one or more matched retrieval expression rules; and an output part which outputs the determination result acquired by the determination part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
