METHOD AND DEVICE FOR AVOIDING OVERHEATING OF DRIVER OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid overheating while securing full flexibility in the case of performing display.;SOLUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes the steps of: serially receiving data for display in the form of a sequence of subfield data bits and parallely transferring the data for display in the form of data blocks each consisting of a predetermined number of subfield data bits; and counting the subfield data bits a value of which differs from that of neighboring or preceding subfield data bits and providing a signal of each count for driving the plasma display panel. The count value obtained as a result is indicative of the heat contribution of the subfield data bits and is available for controlling the plasma display panel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
