PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot shearing method by which the hardness of a sheared section is made uniform and also the tensile residual stress of the sheared section is reduced, about a hot shearing method by which a heated metal plate is sheared in a die, simultaneously quenched in the die and does not pass through a hot press forming process and a hot shearing method by which the heated metal plate is press-formed in the die, sheared in the die simultaneously with or just after the shearing work, quenched simultaneously with the shearing work and which is passed through a hot press forming process.SOLUTION: In this hot shearing method by which the heated metal plate is sheared in the die and quenched in the die simultaneously with the shearing work, the metal plate 1 is sheared by using a punch 10 which includes a base shaft part 20 in which the diameter is constant in the axial direction and an inverse tapered part 21 where is continued to the base shaft part, is made into a club shape toward the tip of the punch.
