PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorine leaching process for metal sulfide which can prevent the sublimation of a chlorine gas and leach metal components from metal sulfide at a high leaching rate in a state where the amount of copper retained in a smelting process system is reduced for reducing the treatment cost for impurity removal treatment in hydrometallurgy of metal, and a hydrometallurgical process for metal utilizing the chlorine leaching process.SOLUTION: In the chlorine leaching process for metal sulfide, chlorine leaching is performed in a chloride solution including copper ions with the metal sulfide as a raw material. The concentration of the copper ions in the chloride solution is controlled to 30g/L, also, the concentration of the salt is controlled to 270 to 350g/L, and the chlorine leaching is performed.
