PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorine leaching process for metal sulfide which can promote the leaching reaction of metal components from metal sulfide even in a state where the amount of copper retained in the process system of hydrometallurgy for metal is reduced, and a hydrometallurgical process for metal utilizing the chlorine leaching process.SOLUTION: In the chlorine leaching process for metal sulfide, chlorine leaching is performed in a chloride solution including copper ions with the metal sulfide as a raw material. The concentration of the chloride ions in the chloride solution is controlled to 350 g/L, and the chlorine leaching is performed.
