PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submicron and nanomaterial composition comprising tungsten; and to provide applications of such compositions.;SOLUTION: The nanomaterial composition comprises: (a) tungsten; and (b) at least one metal other than tungsten wherein the composition of matter is a nanopigment. In the nanomaterial composition, at least one metal other than tungsten is sodium, and furthermore the composition comprises a tungsten bronze.
