NANOMATERIALS TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATION TRENDS:NANOMATERIALS IMPACT IN NANOTECHNOLOGY

If I am effective in my presentation today, I will be leaving you with three concepts: 1. The existing regulatory frameworks in Europe and the U.S. are robust enough to evaluate newer nanomaterials if on-going scientific advances are taken into consideration. We in industry need to promote global coordination and harmonization of regulatory activities, as well as additional federal research in environmental, health and safety (EHS) topics. 2. Firms can take steps to minimize exposure routes through product packaging concepts. 3. Newer products must combine performance with reasonable safety if they are to be commercialized successfully.
