METHOD FOR ACQUIRING ELAEIS GUINEENSIS PLANT OF HIGH YIELD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for acquiring Elaeis guineensis plants of high yield for the production of palm oil.;SOLUTION: The method for acquiring Elaeis guineensis plants of high yield, includes steps of: determining a protein level in mesocarp tissue of fruit of a parent Elaeis guineensis plant; determining whether there is a difference between the protein level in mesocarp tissue of fruit of the parent Elaeis guineensis plant and a protein level in mesocarp tissue of fruit of a reference Elaeis guineensis plant; and selecting the progeny of the parent Elaeis guineensis plant based on the difference to acquire an Elaeis guineensis plant of high yield. A method for predicting the oil yield of a test Elaeis guineensis plant, and a kit for acquiring the Elaeis guineensis plant of high yield are also provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
