PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable individual detection at each 3D-glasses side as to whether each viewer having 3D glasses is close to one 3D video display device at a distance shorter than a proper viewing distance even when plural viewers view the one 3D video display device, whereby an alarm is given to a viewer who is close to the 3D video display device at a shorter distance and comfortable viewing is kept for a viewer who views the 3D video display device at the proper viewing distance.SOLUTION: 3D viewing glasses receive video synchronization signals which are respectively transmitted from a 3D video display device in two modes of infrared ray and ultrasonic waves, and measure the distance to the 3D video display device by using the fact that the phase between the signal received in the infrared ray mode and the signal received in the ultrasonic wave mode varies in accordance with the distance to the 3D video display device. When it is detected that the distance between the 3D video display device and the 3D viewing glasses is shorter than a proper viewing distance (about three times of a viewing screen), the 3D viewing glasses stop a 3D image viewing function to give an alarm to a viewer who is close to the 3D video display device at a distance shorter than the proper viewing distance.
