PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene glycol derivative which includes two PEG chains, which is bound to a diacylglycerol, which has high purity, and which enhances the stability of liposomes.;SOLUTION: The branched polyethylene glycol bound to the diacylglycerol is represented by formula (1). (In formula (1), R1 is 1-7C hydrocarbon group, R2 is 9-21C alkyl or alkenyl, n is an average addition mole number of polyethylene glycol chains, 10≤n≤100, and X is a linker site between the branched polyethylene glycol and the diacylglycerol, and is represented by formula (2)).
