PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition, which can be used for treatment or prevention of cranial nerve diseases and for improvement in brain function and which has little side effect and high safeness even in long-term dosing.;SOLUTION: The composition contains, as an active ingredient, heptamethoxyflavone or auraptene included in pericarp of KAWACHI BANKAN (Citrus maxima) and/or its extract, and is used for at least one purpose selected from the group consisting of treatment of cranial nerve disease, prevention of cranial nerve disease and improvement in brain function. The cranial nerve disease is at least one selected from the group consisting of cerebral infarction, head injury, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety disorder and others.
