PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate a coordinate conversion expression for calculating a position of a traveling vehicle from a photographic image.;SOLUTION: The vehicle traveling locus observation system comprises: a roadside camera for imaging an observation section; a vehicle traveling locus observation device for measuring a traveling locus of a traveling vehicle traveling in the observation section imaged by the roadside camera; and a measuring vehicle which is traveling while detecting information showing the position of the own vehicle. The vehicle traveling locus observation device includes a coordinate conversion expression generation part which generates, based on the coordinate of the measuring vehicle in each of a plurality of photographic images taken by the roadside camera and information showing the position of the own vehicle detected by the measuring vehicle at each photographing time of the plurality of photographic images, a coordinate conversion expression for calculating a position from the coordinates in the photographic images; and a traveling locus generation part which calculates a position of the traveling vehicle in each of the plurality of photographic images taken by the road-side camera, and generates a traveling locus of the traveling vehicle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
