PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a detection method of a conventional technology, which is unable to accommodate a different combustion method and has low detection accuracy of combustion noise, though a method has been proposed which changes a combustion method of an internal combustion engine according to an operation state, but presumably, a combustion noise occurrence state varies by itself in the different combustion method.SOLUTION: The combustion noise can be accurately detected by detecting the combustion noise by selecting a detecting frequency or a detecting frequency band of a combustion noise sensor for detecting the combustion noise in a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine based on a combustion mode, by grasping the combustion mode of the internal combustion engine.
