PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively wash clogging of a filter in a separating apparatus for separating a cell from a culture solution of the living cell using a cylindrical type rotating filter.;SOLUTION: The separating apparatus is designed to separate the living cell from the culture solution of the living cell. The separating apparatus is equipped with a rotating filter provided with a filter arranged on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical type rotor for preventing the passage of the cell, a pressure detecting means for detecting the pressure in the interior of a vessel, a backwash liquid storage vessel for filling a backwash liquid for feeding into the interior of the rotating filter, and a controller for controlling the backwash liquid fed from the backwash liquid storage vessel into the interior of the rotating filter according to the value of the pressure in the interior of the backwash liquid storage vessel measured with the pressure detecting means of the backwash liquid storage vessel. The backwash liquid fed from the backwash liquid storage vessel is discharged from the interior of the rotating filter through the filter to the outside of the rotating filter under an air pressure which is higher than the pressure on the outside of the rotating filter and to be lower than the bubble point pressure of the filter.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
