PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving method of a domestic refrigerator, which can be performed independently and easily by a user of a refrigerator, achieves power saving, and enable an upper step of the refrigerator to be used as a simple chilling compartment, and to provide a power saving auxiliary article used for the power saving method of domestic refrigerator.;SOLUTION: There is provided the power saving method of a domestic refrigerator in which a heat storage medium 1 to be solidified at a temperature of 2 to 8°C is placed. Preferably, the heat storage medium 1 is placed in the neighborhood of a cool air outlet of the refrigerator or in the neighborhood of cool air outlet and also in a middle step shelf. Further, it is preferable to use the power saving auxiliary article in which a molded container 2 or a film packaging body 3 incorporates the heat storage medium 1 comprising PEG (polyethylene glycol) which has a molecular weight in the range of 100 to 2,000 and causes the phase change in the temperature range of 2 to 8 °C, and in particular, the molecular weight of PEG (polyethylene glycol) preferably falls into the range of 300 to 500.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
