PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an ingot having a stable alloy composition over the whole length upon the production of a copper alloy by continuous casting, and further to reduce a change loss by regulating additional amounts when the change of kinds is continuously performed.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method of regulating the composition of a molten metal in continuous casting. The method comprises continuously measuring the resistivity of a melt of copper and of a copper alloy with a measuring instrument 13 for detecting electric resistivity installed in a merging part (mixing tank) 4, calculating the composition of the molten metal from the relationship between resistivity and component amount with respect to each component, the relationship having been grasped beforehand, and correcting the composition of the copper alloy melt based on the results of the calculation by controlling the tapping amount from a melting furnace 10 for additional elements.
