A battery state display device is provided with a state detector (5) which is provided near a battery (1) and receives supply of electricity from the battery (1), and a socket device (6) which is mounted to a socket (3) for a cigar lighter of a vehicle and receives supply of electricity from the battery (1) via the socket (3). The state detector (5) comprises a battery detection unit (21-23) which detects information relating to the state of the battery (1), and a transmission unit (14) which transmits, as detected information, the detected information relating to the state of the battery to the socket device (6) via a power source line connected to the battery (1). The socket device (6) comprises a reception unit (52) which receives the detected information transmitted from the state detector (5) via the power source line, a state display unit (71-75) which displays the state of the battery (1) on the basis of the detected information, and a notification unit (76, 77) which notifies a user of the completion of the reception of the detected information when the receiving unit (52) has completed the reception of the detected information.
