PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recording and playback apparatus for displaying the fact that a recorded program is different from a recording-reserved program in a case where the program different from the recording-reserved program has been recorded because of a broadcast time zone change or broadcast suspension of the recording-reserved program. PSOLUTION: The program recording and playback apparatus displays the list of program information indicative of recorded programs. The program recording and playback apparatus is characterized in that, in program recording, an electronic program guide is referenced and when a program to be the object of a recording reservation is not matched with a recorded program, information is displayed that indicates mismatching with the program to be the object of the recording reservation.
