PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search for a desired file (in particular, a local file) quickly even by a limited source.;SOLUTION: The file analysis device generates a matrix consisting of analysis values k₁₁-k_mn, which are calculated as to respective character strings in respective files. The analysis values k₁₁-k_mn are calculated based on first weighting information, which represents display feature uniqueness of the character strings inside the files, and second weighting information representing uniqueness given when the display features of the character strings are compared with those of character strings in other files.
