PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily discriminating whether the growing district of short-necked clam is Japan or not, and to provide a primer set for detecting Japanese short-necked clam and using the method.;SOLUTION: The primer set for detecting Japanese short-necked clam comprises a first primer having a base sequence represented by sequence number 1 and a second primer having a base sequence represented by sequence number 2.
