PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing device which reduces data quantity in case that affiliated data of high-quality image are generated. PSOLUTION: An acute angle point-extracting part 31 extracts acute points, at which angles formed by adjacent line segments are at most a prescribed angle, from a line segment group obtained in a linear approximation part 21. A line segment group between acute angle points is regarded as a line segment group C, and a passing point computation part 32 computes a passing point which a third order Bezier curve, which approximates the line segment group C, is assumed to pass through. A control point computation part 33 solves dual linear simultaneous equations, which are obtained by the assumption that the third order Bezier curve, which approximates the line segment group C, passes through the passing point obtained by the computation by the passing point computation part 32, to compute two control points of the third order Bezier curve. A determination part 34 determines whether an error between the obtained third order Bezier curve and the line segment group C is at least a prescribed value. If the error is at least the prescribed value, a division part 35 divides the line segment group C into line segments to make each line segment group a line segment group C, and again finds a third order Bezier curve.
