PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an expandable styrenic resin particle which can reduce the amount of the remained monomer to 300 ppm or less in an expandable styrenic resin particle, especially in a halogenic flame retardant-containing, expandable styrenic resin particle, without lowering the productivity.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an expandable styrenic resin particle comprises polymerizing a styrenic monomer together with 0.05 part by weight or more, based on 100 parts by weight of a styrenic monomer, of a compound expressed by general formula 1 and with an initiator having a temperature to a 10-hour half life of 100°C-110°C, and, after the polymerization, impregnating the resultant polymer with a foaming agent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
